Its radar sensor sees through most walls and doors to detect movement within a 360 degree field: about 20 feet to the front and sides, and up to 30 feet behind in open space or 13 feet through a wall. When it senses someone, it releases the deep bark of a large dog, or you can set it to a visitor chime for guests or a straight alarm siren. Eight volume levels top out at 120 decibels. The included keychain remote works from more than 50 feet away to arm and disarm the unit, change the mode and volume, or trigger a panic alarm in an emergency. It runs on the included AC adapter with AA battery backup for power outages, and it comes with a bright dog warning sign for the window. Face the back of the unit toward the area you want covered. It cannot detect through metal or very thick walls and is for indoor use only.
